The 16-35 is a fast, sharp superwide lens, well suited for photojournalism, street shooting, and architecture with upgraded sharpness compared to the Mark 1. Also works well as a general purpose lens for the Rebel/XXD series (1.6 crop) bodies.

The Mark II model has better corner sharpness than the Mark I model.

Photographers who don’t need F2.8 may want to consider the 16-35mm F4 IS L for even sharper results.
