This 70-200 is the F4 IS variant, delivering sharp images in a small, lightweight form factor. If you want a sharp telephoto lens but don’t want to haul around the heavy 2.8 versions, the F4 is for you.

Focuses quickly – great for action. The IS unit works for about four stops of stabilization, depending on the shooter.

Fantastic travel lens. Mounted on a 1.6 crop body (Canon 80D, Rebel T6, etc.), this starts to get into birding range.

This lens is easy to handhold and has a lower profile than its big brothers, the 2.8 versions. The 2.8 IS L Mark 2 is superior, but at a price and weight penalty.
